Kootenai County Saddle Club Selects Royalty

The Kootenai County Saddle Club recently selected royalty to represent their club at O-Mok-Sees, parades and various functions for a year.

Kim Waller, a 19-year-old who has been riding for eight years, will serve as queen. Her horse’s name is Charlie.

Jessaca Guy, and Janessa Daum, are the reigning princesses. Guy is 13 and has been riding for most of her life. Her horse’s name is Doc.

Daum is 10 and has been riding since the age of 2. Her horse’s name is Rosebud.

Melissa Mueller, daughter of Nancy and Jonathan Mueller of Coeur d’Alene, will attend Cottey College in Missouri for the fall 1997 semester.

Mueller, a Lake City High School graduate who plans to major in primary education, was active in drama, choir, concert choir, Youth Volunteers of America, and was volleyball and track manager.

Raymond G. Bieze III, son of Ray and Judy Bieze of Coeur d’Alene and a 1997 valedictorian graduate of Lake City High School, has completed rigorous preliminary training at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., known as Plebe Summer.

Bieze is now attending classes as a 4th Class Midshipman, majoring in electrical engineering with plans to go into aviation, specifically combat jet aircraft.

Army Reserve Pvt. Bunee C. Moore, daughter of James and Bunny Mullen of Hayden Lake and wife of James Moore, has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Shawn W. Marks, son of Wiley Marks of Post Falls and Linda Marks of Coeur d’Alene, has received practical work in military leadership at the Army Reserve Training Corps (ROTC) Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

Marks, a student at the University of Idaho, gained instruction in management, communications, and survival training.

Completion of the camp and graduation from college results in a commission as a second lieutenant in the Army Guard or Reserve.

Army Pvt. Brian D. Mitchell, a 1996 graduate of Post Falls High School and son of Larry Mitchell and Canda Mitchell, both of Post Falls, has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Know, Ky.

Army Sgt. Todd C. Gaunt, a 1986 graduate of Kootenai High School in Harrison, Idaho, recently arrived for duty at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Gaunt, son of Donna Jenne of Coeur d’Alene and David Gaunt of Oregon, is a military police team leader assigned to the 3rd Military Police Company.
