Cycle Champ Armstrong Ready To Resume Career
Former world cycling champion Lance Armstrong could sign with a team by the end of the week, marking his return from testicular cancer, his attorney said.
Bill Stapleton, Armstrong’s attorney, said he’s spoken to five teams about signing the 1993 world champion. He denied a report in the French daily sports newspaper L’Equipe that Armstrong will sign a contract with the U.S. Postal Service cycling team.
“That story is untrue,” Stapleton said from his office in Austin, Texas.
Armstrong missed the past season after he learned a year ago that he had testicular cancer. He had been recovering from treatment done late last year.
