Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: What to do with those plastic sleeves the home-delivery service uses for newspapers? Use them to tie up your tomato plants. They are wide and soft and two of them tied together will tie most plants to the stake. Stanley Becker, New City, N.Y.

Other uses:

Use them as disposable gloves for cleaning jobs.

When traveling, use them for shoe bags.

Keep one in the car to hold a wet umbrella.

Use as a trash bag in your car. Cut in half and punch a little hole at the top to hang it. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: I have one hint I’ve been meaning to share for years. I use a pastry blender to chop up hard-boiled eggs. Just peel the eggs, place in a bowl and use the pastry blender to chop them up. - Anne Cahill, Greenwood, Ind.
