Founders Of Kids Biz To Give Talks

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two women who founded the Kids Biz parenting philosophy will be giving public presentations Friday.

Debi Holt and Sherri Ellison will give a teacher in-service Friday as well as two public presentations from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene High School auditorium.

The Kids Biz philosophy encourages parents to teach children acceptable attitudes, behaviors and life skills such as organization, communication, time management and study habits.

Kids Biz, which is sponsored by the Kootenai School-to-Work organization, is intended to make young people familiar with business and help develop a good work ethic. Parenting suggestions include developing a chart that replaces “chores” with “job descriptions” or “allowances” with “wages and salary,” for example.
