Vandals Announce Prices

New athletic director Mike Bohn has the University of Idaho athletic department on the move as the Vandals head into the next millennium.

As the Vandal football and volleyball teams begin preparations for the fall, Bohn announced new youth and community outreach programs from the Vandal Athletic Department in addition to season-ticket packages and prices for football and volleyball.

“We’re excited about this fall and we want to do everything we can to bring to our fans the same excitement,” Bohn said. “We also want to show our fans and boosters our commitment to our statewide community with the U and I Partners in Vandal Pride, a new outreach program.”

One of the most prominent features of ‘U and I’ begins this fall when all children 12 years old and younger wearing Vandal colors (any combination of gold, yellow, silver and/or black) will be admitted to all athletic events without charge.

“We want our young fans to feel welcome and to form a bond with our university and our student-athletes,” Bohn said. “They are a big part of our future.”

Season tickets

Season tickets, which are on sale now, not only include the Vandals’ four games in the Kibbie Dome but the Sept. 19 game at Washington State University, which marks the beginning of the renewal of the “Battle of the Palouse.”

Season tickets (four in the Dome, one at Washington State) prices are as follows: Adult, reserved seat with chairback, $80; high school and younger, reserved seat with chairback, $40; reserved bleacher seat, $65; family general admission (two adults, three high school and younger), $120.

Individual game tickets (do not apply to WSU game in 1998) are as follows: Reserved seat with chairback, $17; reserved bleacher seat, $13; adult general admission, $9; high school and younger general admission, $5; UI spouse general admission, $5.

Individual game packages (do not apply to WSU game in 1998) are as follows: Family general admission (two adults, three children high school and younger), $25; Homecoming Plus (two-game package that includes one reserved seat for Homecoming and one other game of choice in the Kibbie Dome), $27.

Group rates for individual games (do not apply to WSU game in 1998) are as follows: Groups of 10-19, $2 off general admission ticket; groups of 20-49, $3 off general admission ticket; groups of 50 or more, $4 off general admission ticket.

General admission passes to all UI home athletic events are as follows: UI students free, with valid student ID; high school and younger (Gold Card), $30; seniors, individual (Gold Card), $55; seniors couple (Gold Card), $100.

Junior Joe

The unveiling of U and I Partners in Vandal Athletics brings with it an expansion of the Junior Joe Club, which is open to children 14 years old and younger. In addition to the sports clinics conducted by UI athletes and coaches, Junior Joes also will receive a specially designed T-shirt and many new benefits. The fee, which includes a year’s worth of Junior Joe activities, is only $10. Call Cristina Martini at 885-2794 for further information.
