Cam Severson broke a second-period tie at the 17:44-mark as the Spokane Chiefs went on to beat Prince George 5-2 to close out the Western Hockey League West Division semifinals Wednesday night at Prince George, British Columbia.

The Chiefs, who won the best-of-5 series 3-1, advance to the WHL West finals against the Portland Winter Hawks. Games 1 and 2 will be played Saturday and Monday at the Rose Garden in Portland.

JC baseball

Jeremy Isherwood hit a solo home run and two singles and drove in three runs Wednesday afternoon to power North Idaho College to a 10-4 home baseball victory over Lewis-Clark State College’s junior varsity.

The Cards (14-11) also got homers from Nate Lynch and Jason Bay.
