School Puts On Fun Run Today

Seltice Way Elementary School is inviting the community to pull on its running shoes for the Steve Snell Memorial Fun Run today at the school at 9 a.m.

Runners, walkers and even stroller-pushers can jog, stroll and roll through one-mile, three-mile and five-mile courses for an entry fee of $10 - which also gets them a T-shirt.

“Steve Snell was a teacher here at Seltice many years ago,” said Lisa Bassett, a third grade teacher at the school. “He was very into getting his kids ready for Bloomsday. … He developed cancer and passed away and so the PTA decided to start the Steve Snell Memorial Fun Run.”

Proceeds - if there are any - benefit the Parents and Teachers Association, Bassett said.
