Dancers From India Perform At Nc High
A dance-drama company from southern India will bring a centuries-old dance to Spokane for a performance Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the North Central High School Auditorium.
The Kuchipudi Dance-Drama Company will stage “Ardha Nareeshwara,” a classical dance-drama from India.
The two-hour performance by more than 30 dancers and musicians tells the legends of the Ganges River in India through music, dance and narration. A translator will narrate in English.
The Kuchipudi troupe is based in Madras, India, and is associated with a performance academy there. Admission is $10, $5 for students. The appearance is sponsored by the South Asia Cultural Association. For information call Sreedharani Nandagopal at 467 5558.
