Abc, Wb Announce Fall Premiere Dates

ABC will kick off its season with a traditional premiere-week rollout the week of Sept. 21, while the upstart WB Network will begin its season a week earlier, the networks announced yesterday.

Rather than scatter its program debuts over several weeks, ABC will unveil most of its lineup starting Sept. 21. The WB will start its new season on Sept. 13 and will spread out its debuts through Oct. 7.

ABC will hold off debuting “The Drew Carey Show” and the new comedy “The Secret Lives of Men” until Sept. 30, according to a source.

Likewise, the WB will start its new Monday lineup on Sept. 21; its Tuesday schedule, which includes “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” and the new drama “Felicity,” starts on Sept. 29. “Dawson’s Creek” and the network’s new Wednesday schedule won’t appear until Oct. 7.

ABC has not set return dates for “NYPD Blue” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
