Rathdrum Man Hurt In Collision
A 74-year-old Rathdrum man suffered serious injuries Friday when his pickup collided with two other trucks on state Highway 41.
A dump truck rear-ended a van that was stopped along the highway, touching off the chain-reaction accident near Lancaster Road about 12:15 p.m. the Idaho State Police said.
Officers said Jerry Waddell was waiting to make a left turn onto Lancaster Road when his 1974 Chevy van was hit from behind by a 1994 Ford dump truck.
The collision pushed the van into the southbound lanes and in front of Robert H. Kenna’s 1986 Ford pickup. The pickup collided with the van nearly head-on, the ISP said.
Kenna was taken to Kootenai Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.
Waddell of Hayden and Jack Poulson of Spokane, the driver of the dump truck, were not hospitalized.
