Bonner County commissioners voted 2-1 to remove Patty Douglas from the county Planning Commission in a hearing Wednesday.

Commissioner Dale Van Stone said Douglas “belabors” issues and strays from the subject matter, which unnecessarily bogs down meetings and undermines the planning process.

But Douglas’ supporters said county commissioners were acting against the interests of the public by limiting citizen input into county matters.

Van Stone and Commissioner Larry Allen voted to remove Douglas, while Commissioner Bud Mueller voted against her dismissal.

All three commissioners voted to appoint Douglas to the Planning Commission in October 1997.
