Dear Nancy: I’m a single mother with an 18-month-old son and a 4-month-old daughter. My daughter was conceived during a one-night stand and I have no feeling for her father. It was a stupid mistake, as my son’s father is the “love of my life.” My daughter’s father is obsessed with me and wants to marry me. This dream really upset me. I was sexually abused as a child and will do anything to protect my kids from it. What do you think? - Arlisha

My true love has been away at college and returns after four years. I’m invited to a gathering at his home which turns out to be a surprise engagement party for us. It’s the happiest moment of my life!

Then my daughter’s father appears and says he won’t give me up to anyone. He tells me he badly abused my son and sexually abused my daughter. I get a gun and shoot him.

Dear Arlisha: I can understand why this dream would have you worried. You obviously feel threatened by this man’s obsession, and I’d advise you to honor your natural instincts and intuition regarding him.

In your dream, your true love has been away at college. You said on the telephone that you have been seeing him again. Perhaps “college” is the proverbial “school of life,” and he will be back in the future to resume your relationship.
