Christmas Concerts

A live performance of the 325-voice Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s traditional Christmas concert will be televised via satellite at 5 p.m. today at several area locations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The choir will sing such favorites as “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “Silent Night” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?”

The Christmas lighting display in Temple Square in Salt Lake City will also be featured.

The concert will be shown at the following chapels: North Stake Center, 401 W. Regina; East Stake Center, 13608 E. 40th; West Stake Center, 10405 W. Melville Road, Cheney; Cheney Chapel, 2536 N. Sixth, Cheney; Davenport Chapel, Lincoln and Eighth, Davenport, Wash.; and Coeur d’Alene Stake Center, 2801 N. Fourth, Coeur d’Alene.

Admission is free.

The choir of St. John’s Antiochian Orthodox Church will perform a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. today at the church, 4750 E. 20th in Post Falls.

“God is With Us” will include Christmas hymns and liturgical music from the Russian and Byzantine traditions of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Refreshments representing the various Orthodox traditions will be served following the concert.

Admission is free.

Living Nativity in Springdale

Springdale (Wash.) Community Church will stage a live Nativity performance in the Springdale City Park at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Refreshments and Christmas carols will follow.

The church, at 420 N. Main in Springdale, will also have a 6 p.m. worship service on Christmas Eve. (509-258-7333).
