Liberty High Explosion Postpones Doubleheader
The explosion of a dryer at Liberty High School Tuesday morning forced the postponement of a Bi-County League basketball doubleheader against Valley Christian.
The dryer exploded in a laundry room adjacent to the locker rooms and boiler room, said Liberty principal Steve Boosinger. The blast damaged two walls and some power lines, but nobody was injured. One of the walls was a load-bearing wall.
Boosinger said the explosion was a “suspicious situation” and is under investigation.
The basketball games tentatively were rescheduled for Jan. 5.
