Octuplet Update
Nkem Chukwu and her husband Ikye Loius Udobi, parents of octuplets born in Houston, accept one of many gifts delivered to her hospital room. By Saturday night four of the tiny babies - girls Chidi, Echerem and Chima and boy Jioke - were breathing on their own and had suffered no complications. But their siblings were worse off. Gorom, a girl, underwent surgery to repair an intestinal perforation. Ikem, a boy, and Ebuka, a girl, were returned to ventilators. And Odera, the girl who was the smallest at birth, weighing just 10.3 ounces, remained on a ventilator and required 100 percent oxygen.
