Cda Man Arrested After Alleged Attack In Hotel Room Sends Another To Hospital
A Coeur d’Alene man was stabbed in the left arm early Sunday after another man entered his hotel room and demanded money, police reported.
Terry Lee McCollum, 43, was treated at Kootenai Medical Center and released.
McCollum told the Coeur d’Alene Police Department he was watching television in a room at the Garden Motel on Northwest Boulevard when a man knocked on the door. The man forced his way into the room and stabbed McCollum in the arm, police reported. The man demanded money, and when McCollum said he had none, took two partially empty packs of cigarettes, police said.
Police arrested Kenneth Randall Smith, 24, of Coeur d’Alene, about 5 a.m. at 1419 Front Ave. Smith was booked into the county jail on suspicion of aggravated battery and robbery.
McCollum told police he knows Smith and said they had fought before over girlfriends, but said he didn’t know why he was attacked.
