When It Comes To Spice, Ginger Is Most Alluring

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Speaking of the Spice Girls, and who isn’t, the raven-haired Ginger Spice - aka Geri Halliwell - is seeing someone new.

Jamie Morrison is the son of Bryan Morrison, the publisher responsible for such groups as Pink Floyd, the Bee Gees and Wham!

The lovebirds reportedly got together over the Christmas holidays when they happened to be sharing the same Irish castle. Their bond left Julian Parker, Morrison’s girlfriend of three years, out in the cold.

“I was with him before Christmas, if you know what I mean,” Parker told the British press. “I had no idea anything was going on.”

And now? “I think Geri is so tacky,” Parker said. “I’m shocked he’s going out with her.” Oh? One of Morrison’s friends discloses that “he is not exactly blessed with brain cells (but)… he is very charming.”

Loose talk

Columbia TriStar Television senior vice present Ruth-Ann Huvane on the future of Alyssa Milano, who is leaving “Melrose Place”: “We are over the moon for her. She’s really blossomed into a wonderful actress.”

Any day now she’ll start acting her age

Farrah Fawcett turns 51 today.

She’s the finest date that money can buy

Wealthy businessman Richard Lugner specializes in paying women to accompany him places. His date for the Vienna Opera Ball is Raquel Welch, 57. “She’s of the same caliber as Joan Collins or Sophia Loren,” Lugner said. “A sexy star, a famous actress, mature.” Other Lugner companions: Grace Jones and Sarah Ferguson.

Hello, I am Fabio and I’m wearing…

Fabio’s former agent is suing the long-haired hunk, claiming that he fired her in 1991 after she had made him a household name. He says he dumped Rhonda Lanzoni because she treated him, he says, like “a piece of meat” for suggesting that that he do a phone-sex line. “I said, ‘Rhonda, no. I was raised in a family with values and morals,”’ he said.

It takes a big man to do a big job

San Francisco columnist Leah Garchik quotes historian Michael Beschloss as saying 13 presidents in addition to Bill Clinton have been accused of infidelity. The others: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, Warren Harding, Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and George Bush.

Bet Merle Haggard could make that little ditty hum

Here are lyrics taken from the John Tesh-penned tune “Give Me Forever” (from his new album “Grand Passion”): “Looking out I see/ And I know just how much you’re a part of me/ I see you and I together in life/ So there’s nothing I wouldn’t do/ To make you my wife.”

His dog ate his other excuse

Arrested on marijuana and weapons charges, soul singer James Brown told the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, “I have bad eyes. It was just a little tiny bit (of marijuana). It wasn’t even a misdemeanor.”
