Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: Do you know of a method to remove bumper stickers from a used car? One peeled off nicely, but only a part of the second one came off. Perhaps you or someone else would have an answer. Mary Bartness, Mesa, Ariz.
Give this a try: Use a hair dryer to heat the bumper sticker and soften the adhesive. When the sticker is hot, carefully lift the corner with a knife (Don’t scratch the bumper and use care when using the knife!) and peel off the sticker. If the whole sticker doesn’t come off in one piece, repeat the process on the section left stuck on.
To make bumper-sticker removal easier next time, when you put one on, remove only a 2-inch strip of the backing from around the edges and leave the center intact. When you want to remove the sticker, it should be a snap. - Heloise
