Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My beautiful cocker spaniel’s ears are so long, every time she ate she would get food all over the bottom of them.

I found a “dish” that was actually a container for flowers in the shape of an oblong tub. It was glazed ceramic, just like a dish, and nice and narrow but large enough for her dinner.

Now while she eats, her ears overhang the dish and they never get into her food. - Joyce, San Antonio

I bet your hint will help lots of owners of floppy-eared dogs. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: I think I came up with an ingenious idea when I painted the bedroom molding. I took the plastic cover off a large coffee can, made a cross slit in it and slipped the handle of the paintbrush through the slit.

I didn’t get one drop of paint on me, as it all went into the coffee lid. Now it is not a dreaded job since I discovered a way to paint and stay clean. - J.B., Rochester, N.Y.
