Another Case Of The Tail Wagging The Dog

More on that international prostitution ring investigation involving Robert De Niro: A British newspaper reports the actor admitted having an affair with a soft-porn model implicated in the probe, but never paid her.

The News of the World says it obtained copies of sworn statements De Niro gave to French authorities in which he acknowledged having a relationship with Charmaine Sinclair.

“He is not a suspect,” a De Niro spokesman said, adding: “But if it were true, I would point out that he was an unmarried man then.”

Sinclair, meanwhile, told the Sunday Mirror that “sex was never the most important thing with Bob, we just enjoyed the intimacy.”

She also said De Niro told her that her posterior was superior to that of his former model girlfriend Naomi Campbell.

Loose talk

Unknown Amy Seccombe, on playing Princess Diana in a new TV movie: “I’m not about to start a career as a Diana lookalike. I’m an actress and this is a fantastic role.”

On his birthday, he always has a ball

Seal turns 35 today.

Right now, they’re still doing dress rehearsals

A Tampa, Fla., businesswoman who bought 14 of the late Princess Diana’s gowns at auctions plans to take them on a two-year worldwide benefit tour starting in Washington, D.C., in June. Maureen Rorech said she hopes to raise $100 million for various charities.

Guess the tomboy must be the one in drag

Kim Basinger tells In Style magazine she has tried to embrace “that sex symbol thing in me,” but she’s really a shy tomboy more comfortable in jeans. “The one person, the real girl, has been fighting the other girl all my life,’ she says. “We have knockdown drag-outs all the time.”

And she’ll raise him in her own fashion

Supermodel Elle Macpherson is shopping for baby clothes after giving birth over the weekend to her first child, a 7-pound boy named Arpad Flynn Busson. She and financier husband Arki Busson plan to call the youngster Flynn for short.

Herring? So she is sort of a pickley eater

Think supermodels eat like birds? Not so, says Claudia Schiffer. “Most people think I only eat salad and that I’m dying of hunger,” she tells the German magazine Bunte. “But like most normal people, I eat bread with Nutella (a chocolate spread), chocolates, and I just adore herring.”

Of course, it was the crock tail hour

And then there’s actress Sharon Stone, who confesses: “God, I love to eat. And I can’t deal with people who won’t - women who order salad with no dressing and a diet soda. I’ll try anything. Even crocodile tail in Africa! I was a vegetarian, but I thought I should at least try it because it could be fortifying.”
