Black History Banquet Saturday
The deadline for reservations is today for the annual Eastern Washington University Black History Month Banquet at which a number of African-American student leaders will be honored. The winners of the Black History Month Essay Contest will also be announced.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ridpath Hotel. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by calling 359-2205.
Students to be honored include EWU student body president LaShund Lambert and students Bobby Raiford, Travis Sewell, Joshua Hall, Stacy King, Derrick Peyton, Daniel Cochran, Giana Hammer and Chandra Grady.
Presentations will be made to the winners of the essay contest in four age groups - elementary, middle school, high school and college/university.
