Valley Mall Adding Import Store, Steakhouse

A Pier 1 Imports store and and a Black Angus steakhouse are coming to the Spokane Valley Mall, mall officials said.

Both the new store and the new restaurant will be housed in freestanding buildings at the mall, locations would be along Indiana Avenue, said Collier Reid, leasing agent for the mall.

Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus will build a restaurant of about 6,500 square feet.

Pier 1 Imports will construct a 9,000-square foot building, Reid said. The Texas-based retailer has two other stores in Spokane, one downtown and one in North Spokane.

Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus, a California-based chain, has restaurants throughout the western United States. Until the 1980s, it operated a restaurant in downtown Spokane noted for its spectacular view of the Spokane River falls.

New Goodtymes Pub to open in May

Goodtymes Pub will open in May at its new location at the corner of Mission and Mullan, owner Debbie Smith said.

The 10-year-old restaurant is now in the Argonne Village.

The pub’s new 6,000-square-foot building will be almost double the size of its present space on the corner of Argonne and Montgomery. The new pub will have cathedral ceilings, a catwalk to watch bands on stage, a 20-by-28 foot dance floor and a woodburning oven, Smith said.

Goodtymes will also have a limousine awning attached to the building with two limos giving service to customers.

The project, estimated at $1 million, puts the restaurant in a great location.

“I think it’s dynamite,” Smith said. “It’s more visible. You can see it from the freeway. It has better access.”

Courier company coming

A new courier company is moving to the Spokane Business and Industrial Park.

Los Angeles-based Gallop Couriers Inc. will open a 6,000-square-foot operation on March 2 in the western section of the park along Sullivan Road, said company vice president James Monahan.

Gallop, which delivers freight to local companies, chose the industrial park because of the location.

“The business in (Spokane) is moving toward that end of town,” Monahan said.

The company has 16 offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico. The Spokane location will employ three people.

Quality RV Service moving

Quality RV Service is moving from its present location at Sprague and Fancher to a bigger South Valley location.

Owners Tammy and Tony Gonzales will move their business to 9517 E. Fourth about March 1.

The business repairs RVs, campers and trailers.

The new building will have 5,000 square feet, considerably more than its present 1,800-square foot site.

The move was made in part over concern that construction of the new Interstate 90 interchange at Sprague Avenue could interfere with customers getting to their business, Tammy Gonzales said.
