A member of the Orlando Predators arena football team stole $3,500 that had been donated for a youth football league that he was organizing, police said.

John Wesley Clark, 30, told authorities he cashed the checks and spent the money for his personal use, according to his arrest report.

Mount Dora police charged Clark with two counts of grand theft. He was released from the Lake County Jail on $6,000 bond.

Clark is on Orlando’s arena football roster but has been on the injured reserve list since the beginning of last season.
