Kenneth Blumenschein Colfax, Wash.

Funeral service for Kenneth G. Blumenschein, 69, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at the Endicott (Wash.) Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Blumenschein, who was born on the family farm near Endicott, died Friday.

In 1946 he graduated from Endicott High School and served two years in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Blumenschein worked as a farmer and in 1954 married Hazel Schierman in St. John, Wash.

He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and they moved to Colfax in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Michele Wing of Denver, Lila Lust of Davenport, Wash., and Lola Gillespie of Pullman; his mother, Elizabeth Blumenschein of Endicott; a sister, Joyce Lust of Endicott; two brothers, Harvey Blumenschein of Spokane and Ray Blumenschein of St. John; and six granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church.

John Boyd Pullman

Funeral service for John Frank Boyd, 83, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Burial will follow at the Pullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Boyd, who was born in his family home near Pullman, died Friday.

He farmed with his father and in 1942 purchased his own farm and lived and worked there the remainder of his life.

In 1953 he married Laveta Brown in Pullman. She died in 1990.

Mr. Boyd was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Whelan Grange.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Main of Palouse, Wash.; four sons, John Boyd of Kennewick, Jim Boyd of Colfax, Wash., Mike Boyd of Spokane and Dan Boyd of Pullman; two stepdaughters, Janette Wilkinson of Bayview, Idaho, and Patricia Gooder of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Orval and Lavern Boyd, both of Pullman; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Forrest Culver Spokane

Visitation for Forrest Culver, 72, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Culver, a 70-year resident of Spokane, died Saturday.

He was born in Cheney and served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Culver began working at S & E Plumbing and Heating at age 12, and worked there as a plumber until 1962.

He purchased his own business, and continued plumbing and running the business until his retirement in 1989.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Frances; three daughters, Linda Adams of Issaquah, Wash., Irene Miller of Spokane and Barbara Steiner of Cotati, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Holmes and Inda Galbreath, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Andrew ‘Andy’ Kuipers Post Falls

Memorial Mass for Andrew S. “Andy” Kuipers, 30, will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. George’s Catholic Church in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kuipers, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.

He grew up in Spokane and moved to Kent, Wash., where he graduated from Kentridge High School in 1985.

Mr. Kuipers moved to Post Falls in 1993 and had worked as a landscaper.

He was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church in Post Falls..

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Mary Kuipers of Post Falls; a brother, Mark Kuipers of Spokane; and three sisters, Lynn Singletary of Texas, Karen Breese of Auburn, Wash., and Peggy Cooper of Gig Harbor, Wash.

Ella Coffey Chewelah, Wash.

Memorial service for Ella Jane Coffey, 85, will be at 2 p.m. today at the United Church of Christ in Chewelah. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Coffey, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.

She graduated from North Central High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree from Cheney Normal School.

In 1942 she married Paul Coffey. He died in 1983.

Mrs. Coffey taught elementary and high school in Benton City, Wash., and in Spokane. She taught third and fifth grades, and high school art in the Chewelah School District until she retired.

She was a member of the Washington Education Association, the National Education Association, the Retired Teachers Association, the Chewelah Women’s Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Chewelah Recreation Association, the Women’s bowling program, the Friends of the Library and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Coffey was active in ceramics and craft groups both as participant and instructor. She was selected, along with her husband Paul, as co-citizens of the year for 1982 Chataqua Days celebration.

Survivors include a daughter, Pennie Coffey of Westport, Wash.; three sons, Dan Coffey of Puyallup, Wash., Michael Coffey of Albany, Ore., and Bradley Coffey of Portland; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Library in Chewelah.

Alice (Feely) Worthington Greenacres

Memorial service for Alice (Feely) Worthington, 83, will be at 2 p.m. at Valley United Methodist Church. Graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Worthington, who was born on a farm near Rathdrum, died Thursday.

After graduating from Rathdrum High School, she moved to Spokane.

Mrs. Worthington then moved to Detroit, where she worked for the FBI for 30 years.

After her retirement, she moved to Greenacres.

Survivors include her companion, Howard Barns of Greenacres; and a brother, Delmar Feely of Olympia.

Margaret Elsner Spokane

Visitation for Margaret A. Elsner, 62, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Elsner, who was born at the family home in Marion, N.D., died Friday.

She graduated from Marion High School and worked for Standard Oil Co. in Fargo, N.D.

In 1955 she married Paul Elsner, and in 1968 they moved to Spokane.

Mrs. Elsner worked for Albertsons for 27 years, before retiring in 1997.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David and Jay Elsner; a sister, Virginia Williams; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lutheran Church Memorial Organ Fund.

Samuel McNeal III Spokane

Visitation for Samuel Frank “J-Boney” McNeal III, 38, will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. McNeal, who was born in Houston, died Feb. 15.

He had worked in telemarketing for Dakotah Direct.

Survivors include his fiance, Erica Houston; two daughters, Nakosha and Janelle McNeal, both of Spokane; a son, Jamael McNeal of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Janai Houston of Spokane; a brother and five sisters, all of Texas; and one granddaughter.

Rose Reinhardt Spokane

Graveside service for Rose M. Reinhardt, 82, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Spring Valley Mennonite Cemetery in Newport, Wash. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reinhardt, who was born in Hazen, N.D., died Thursday.

She was a longtime resident of Spokane and worked as a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Otto; four daughters, Fern Koenig and Luella Otto, both of Mandan, N.D., Lorraine Androes of Spokane and Margorie Christie of Seattle; a son, Donald Reinhardt of Harrison, Idaho; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Virginia ‘Jennie’ Trimble Farmington, Wash.

Funeral service for Virginia M. “Jennie” Trimble, 72, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Farmington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will follow at the Garfield Cemetery in Garfield, Wash. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Trimble, who was born in Huntington Beach, Calif., died Friday.

In 1943 She graduated from Farmington High School. In 1945 she married Jack Trimble in Oakland, Calif., and they returned to Oakesdale, Wash. They moved to Farmington in 1947.

Mrs. Trimble was a homemaker there and helped farm, until she and her husband retired in 1993.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Farmington, the Farmington Garden Club, the Skyline Club and the Fortnightly Club.

Her husband died in 1995.

Survivors include a son, James Trimble of Farmington; two brothers, George Robinson of Farmington and Merle Robinson of Mattawa, Wash.; a sister, Opal Sutton of Blythe, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Calvin Poole Spokane

No service will be held for Calvin T. Poole, 81, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Poole, who was born in Montana, died Tuesday.

He served in the Army during World War II, and worked as a section head for the railroad in Spokane for 25 years until his retirement in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Hedwig; and a sister, Dorothy Schneider.

Emma Biggio Spokane

Memorial service for Emma W. Biggio, 76, was Monday. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Biggio, who was born in Hoboken, N.J., died Friday.

In 1939 she married Edward Biggio. She worked for 20 years as a quality control inspector for W. Electronic Co. in the New York area.

Mrs. Biggio moved to Spokane from Long Island, N.Y., in 1988. She was a homemaker.

Her husband died in 1985.

She was a member of the First Free Evangelist Church.

Survivors include a son, John Biggio Jr., and a daughter, Gloria Marcel, both of Spokane; and two granddaughters.
