Deputies Arrest 2 Men In Valley Slaying Post Falls Men, Six Others, Caught During Dawn Raid On House In Coeur D’Alene

Two men charged with the fatal shooting of a Spokane Valley man were arrested here Friday morning at a home on the city’s east side.

Christopher C. Gober, 19, and Edward Burrow, 22, were arrested about 6:45 a.m. when a team of sheriff’s deputies converged on a home where the men had been staying. The Post Falls men are charged with first-degree murder in the Dec. 23 shotgun slaying of Jeremy Moore, 20, at a Spokane apartment.

Members of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department special response unit arrested six other people Friday at the house at 1008 N. 16th St. - all but one for harboring a fugitive, Lt. Jeff Thomas said. The special response unit was dispatched because of the potential for violence, but no one was injured, Thomas said.

Spokane County detectives arrived at the Kootenai County sheriff’s office Friday morning. The two men are being held without bail in the Kootenai County Jail as fugitives pending extradition hearings.

Gober also was booked on a $500,000 bench warrant for failing to appear Tuesday for sentencing for his part in an unrelated Coeur d’Alene drive-by shooting last spring.

Both men are scheduled to make first appearances Monday afternoon before a Kootenai County magistrate. It was not known if Gober will be sentenced in Idaho before being extradited to Washington to face murder charges in Moore’s slaying.

Moore died instantly when he was shot in the head at close range following an argument with Gober, Burrow and another man, authorities have said. A third man being sought in the killing has not been identified.

Spokane County investigators have not said which man pulled the trigger, but a witness told detectives it was Gober, according to court records.

The 20-year-old man said he saw Gober shoot Moore with a short-barreled shotgun. Burrows was armed with a shotgun and a pistol but did not fire them, the witness told detectives.

Detectives spent Friday afternoon searching the Coeur d’Alene house for evidence.

Also arrested Friday for harboring a fugitive were: Thomas Knack, James Kingsley, Tamera Ryan, Dale Weber and Shanisy Miller. Knack listed the 16th street address as his home on court documents. Donald Frye, who deputies said was seen leaving the home, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and unrelated warrants.
