Teen Mom Charged In Death Of Infant Son
A teenage mother was charged with second-degree murder on Friday in the death of her infant son, whose body was found in a dumpster.
Abby Rhoades, 19, had been under police questioning since the infant was discovered on Thursday by a man looking for aluminum cans in the dumpster.
Police Chief Kent Livsey said the child was placed in the refuse container on a wet towel. Authorities said the baby was born on Jan. 3.
David Metcalf, who lives near the alley where the baby was found, said he threw some trash in the dumpster about 4 p.m. Thursday, just before police arrived. Detectives took the trash container to an evidence area.
