Tar Heels Still No. 1
Unbeaten North Carolina remains No. 1, getting all but two of the 70 first-place votes and 1,748 points from the national media panel in the men’s college basketball poll.
Duke stayed second, receiving the other two No. 1 votes and 1,676 points.
Kansas and Utah were third and fourth in this week’s poll, switching places from last week. Arizona, Kentucky and Stanford stayed Nos. 5-7. UCLA jumped two spots to eighth and was followed by Purdue and Connecticut.
Tennessee remained a unanimous No. 1 in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll.
Arizona lost at home to Washington State, but rebounded to beat then-No. 7 Washington and climbed one spot to ninth.
Stanford climbed three places to 11th. Washington fell to 13th.
