Center Suspended
Wake Forest center Loren Woods has been suspended indefinitely from the team for reasons related to basketball, coach Dave Odom announced.
Woods, a 7-foot-1 sophomore, has started all 14 games and is the team’s third-leading scorer (11.6 points per game) and its top rebounder (8.6 rpg).
Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson said that Ali Thompson would be reinstated, but he would not give the junior forward any more chances.
Richardson suspended Thompson indefinitely on Tuesday after his arrest in Fayetteville on a DWI charge.
Kansas senior forward Raef LaFrentz, who may return to basketball action in a week, took part in a limited practice after having a cast was removed from a broken finger.
Lamar Odom, one of America’s top high school basketball players last year, won’t play for No. 20 Rhode Island this season because he failed to qualify to become a full-time student.
