Freeman and Reardan took turns giving away Saturday’s game for early bragging rights in the Northeast A League.
Reardan offered the final present, missing two layups in the final 2 minutes of a 53-50 loss to the visiting Scotties (10-3, 1-0).
Jared Pope made 7 of 10 field-goal attempts and Steve Simmons added eight rebounds for Freeman, which has won six of its last seven.
Freeman’s eight-point lead after three quarters dissolved 6 minutes later into a two-point edge for Reardan (8-5, 1-1). Rhett Soliday scored 20, hitting three 3-pointers and 5 of 7 from the line for Reardan, which had a seven-game winning streak snapped.
