Lakeland’s Aaron Ward Geography Bee Winner
Aaron Ward, a seventh-grader at Lakeland Junior High and son of Bryan and Vivian Ward of Rathdrum, recently won the school-level competition of the National Geography Bee held earlier this month.
Ward will now take a written test to determine his eligibility for the state competition, with up to 100 of the top scorers in Idaho eligible to compete.
State competition winners will compete in the National Geography Bee championships and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., from the National Geography Society, with the first place winner receiving a $25,000 college scholarship.
Lakeland Junior High has announced the December students of the month. Students are listed by grade level.
