Rain forced Indy Racing League officials to set the lineup for the season-opening Indy 200 at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. By rules, standings from 1997 plus fastest practice times determine the lineup.

That format put Tony Stewart, the defending series champion and the fastest driver in Thursday’s practice, on the pole for today’s race, alongside A.J. Foyt entry Kenny Brack, who moved into runner-up Davey Hamilton’s seat during the winter.

Ricky Graham, a three-time American Motorcyclist Association champion, died in a fire at his home in rural Monterey County, Calif. He was 39.

Bobo Brazil, the pro wrestler famous for giving his opponents the “coco butt” by smashing his head into theirs, has died. He was 74.

Brazil, whose real name was Houston Harris, was a star in the 1960s and ‘70s.
