Super 1 Foods Hit By Robbery

From Staff

A man who robbed a grocery store cashier while she was closing her register late Tuesday escaped with an unknown amount of money, police said.

The woman told police she was preparing to leave work at Super 1 Foods, 305 Kathleen Ave., when a man walked up behind her and said “something to the effect of give me all your money.” When she turned to see who it was the man told her he had a gun.

He grabbed cash from the register drawer and ran from the store.

The man left through the store’s south doors about 7:30 p.m. Witnesses said he may have gotten into a white Ford Taurus station wagon, which was last seen driving east on Kathleen.

The robber was described as white, in his late 30s, 5 feet 11, 150 pounds and of a thin build. He wore his long, black hair in a pony tail, and had a black goatee and whiskers. He also wore glasses.

He was wearing cutoff jeans and a white shirt with elbow-length sleeves.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the man or the car to call 769-2290.
