Three Wildfires Scorch 1,155 Acres
Range fires consumed about 1,155 acres before firefighters contained three different blazes.
The largest fire consumed 1,000 acres on Friday 14 miles southwest of Castleford, and it took crews from the South Central Fire Management District more than eight hours to contain it.
A smaller fire was reported around the same time 10 miles south of the larger fire. Crews were not able to rein the blaze in before it burned 150 acres, the Southern Idaho Interagency Dispatch Center said.
The third fire burned five acres near Magic Reservoir on Friday evening before firefighters from the Bureau of Land Management and the Wood River Fire and Rescue team contained it, said Pam Wallace from the dispatch center.
Crews planned on mopping up the larger fires through Saturday.
