County Crews Will Have Mock Disaster

Bonner County authorities will stage a mock disaster this Saturday to test the preparedness of emergency crews.

The drill will take place at the Coldwater Creek campus. The mail-order catalog company is the largest employer in North Idaho, and employees also will practice evacuating their buildings.

Staff from Bonner General Hospital and the Kootenai County hazardous materials team will participate along with five other Bonner County emergency agencies.

The fake disaster will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The crews will be responding to a truck-train accident that causes a derailment of a tanker car behind Coldwater Creek.
