Evelyn Reinders Spokane
Funeral for Evelyn F. Reinders, 70, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South.
Mrs. Reinders, who was born in Washington, D.C., died Wednesday.
She worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center as a housekeeper for 14 years. She retired in 1989.
Mrs. Reinders was a member of the Southside Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Fred; two sons, Fred Reinders of Spokane and Edward Reinders of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; two daughters, Peggy Clark and Andree Anderson, both of Spokane; a sister, Joan Giggard of Kissimee, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Lee Emery Bonners Ferry, Idaho
Service for C. Lee Emery, 69, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Paradise Valley Cemetery near Bonners Ferry.
Mr. Emery, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
He grew up and attended schools in Spokane and then attended Cheney College before serving with the Coast Guard.
Mr. Emery later served with the Army and moved to the Yaak area near Troy, Mont., in 1950.
He worked for the Forest Service, retiring in 1983 after 30 years of service.
Mr. Emery served on the Northern Lights Board of Directors since 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; five children, Christine Lockhart and Toni Hollen, both of California, David Hake and Patricia Suber, both of Montana, and Trudy Anderson of Spokane; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Orville Long Sprague, Wash.
Graveside service for Orville C. Long, 83, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Macabee Cemetery in Sprague. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Long, who was born in Cisna, Ill., died Thursday.
He began working for Kaiser Aluminum as a mechanized cell operator in the pot room in 1947. He retired in 1976.
There are no surviving family members.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sprague Ambulance Fund.
Emmet Ulrich Greenacres
Memorial service for Emmett Ulrich, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Berean Bible Church Mission Link. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Fairfield, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ulrich, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.
He graduated from West Valley High School and served with the Army during World War II.
Mr. Ulrich worked as a custodian at South Pines Elementary from 1959 until his retirement in 1983.
Survivors include his wife MaryLou; a son, Bob Ulrich of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Gail Chanter Spokane
No service will be held for Gail S. Chanter. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Chanter, who was born in Aurora, Ill., died Wednesday. She was 46.
She worked as a librarian and had been a resident of Spokane for 12 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Holten of Spokane and Sandy Chanter of Medical Lake; and a son, Stephen Chanter of Medical Lake.
Hazel ‘Jackie’ Whealdon Spokane
Memorial service for Hazel “Jackie” Whealdon, 92, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rockwood Manor. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whealdon, who was born near Moscow, Idaho, died Wednesday.
She graduated from Moscow High School and in 1950 married Gilbert Whealdon.
The couple lived numerous places, including Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Los Angeles, and Japan.
In 1957 they moved to Spokane where she worked in retail sales.
Mrs. Whealdon moved to Rockwood Manor in 1989.
She was a member of South Hill Senior Center and Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Whealdon is survived by a sister, Hattie Weigand of Hillsboro, Ore.; a brother, Clarence Cameron of Lewiston; and a stepgrandson.
