What wine goes best with whippoorwill?

Don’t be silly, that haunting songstress isn’t on the menu.

But it and other birds will certainly be part of the cocktail party chit-chat at an Audubon Society fundraiser Saturday night at The Caterina Winery, 905 N. Washington.

A selection of the winery’s reds and whites will be poured including sauvignon blanc, merlot, late harvest riesling and Caterina’s new rose, Cabernet della Rosa.

Appetizers from Patsy Clark’s will accompany the wines.

The $25 per person suggested donation for this event will go to the Spokane Audubon Society and Washington Wetlands Network, a program dedicated to wetland appreciation and conservation.

The wine tasting fundraiser runs from 5 until 7:30 p.m.
