Appreciate ‘Truman’ With An Open Mind
Try not to be affected by all the hype you’re hearing about “The Truman Show” (a film that Entertainment Weekly is already calling the best of 1998). Just let the film’s small magic work on you (the first half-hour can be a bit confusing). Take care to notice director Peter Weir’s numerous abilities, and rejoice in Jim Carrey’s trademark presence, moderated for once to fit the story instead of vice versa.
