Hollice Smith Bonners Ferry, Idaho
A celebration of life for Hollice John Smith, 75, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, who was born in Bonners Ferry, died Sunday.
He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and worked for the Forest Service briefly as a mule packer and also did construction work at Farragut Naval Station.
He also traveled with the Harry Walden Dance Band as a trumpeter and did surveying work for the Engineering Department of the Great Northern Railroad.
Mr. Smith served with the Army during World War II in the European Theater in Germany in Gen. George Patton’s 3rd Army.
Mr. Smith returned to Bonners Ferry and was later promoted to captain and recalled to serve as a company commander in Korea.
He returned home in 1952 and continued to serve with the Reserves as a major until recently.
Mr. Smith was the commander of the National Guard unit in Boundary County for four years and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star and the Combat Infantry Badge with one star.
He owned an electrical contracting business in the Bonners Ferry area for 10 years and in 1963 worked for the city of Bonners Ferry as an electrician before retiring in 1985.
He was a 50-year member of American Legion Post 55.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Debbie Wombacher of California, and Kelly Orison and Lisa Shelton, both of Bonners Ferry; a son, Hollie Smith of Spokane; two brothers, Earl Smith of Oregon and Wilfred Smith of Sumner, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the city of Bonners Ferry for a memorial dedicated in Mr. Smith’s memory.
Grace Henderson Coeur d’Alene
Service for Grace Virginia Henderson, 99, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be at Forest Cemetery, Riverview Section, in Coeur d’Alene.
Ms. Henderson, who was born in Arkansas, died Monday. She was a homemaker and moved to the Athol area in 1991 from California.
She later moved to Coeur d’Alene and was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include three sons, Ernest Henderson of Oregon, Bobby Henderson of Arkansas and Billy Henderson of Athol; two daughters, Levona Bernard of Arizona and Jeanette Campbell of La Center, Wash.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mollie Callaway Coeur d’Alene
Service for Mollie Lee Callaway, 84, will be held Tuesday at Oak Hills Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Callaway, who was born in Arkansas, died Monday.
She was a homemaker and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1997 to be near family.
Her husband, Terry, died in 1982.
Survivors include two daughters, Dale Knapp of Coeur d’Alene and Serena Zabatini of California.
Neita Jamison Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Neita Lavelle Jamison, 88, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Jamison, who was born in Johnson, Wash., died Tuesday.
She grew up and graduated from high school in Johnson and lived in Pullman before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1939.
Mrs. Jamison became co-owner of Y-J Packing Co. in 1947 and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley “Moose,” in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Stan Jamison of Post Falls and Larry Jamison of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Lavelle Donovan and Robin Davis, both of Post Falls; a sister, Ann Corbett of Monroe, Wash.; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
