Conrad Neste Spokane
Memorial service for Conrad N. Neste will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Neste, who was born in Fordville, N.D., died Thursday. He was 78.
He graduated from high school in Fordville and worked in the shipyards in Portland during World War II.
In 1946 he married Joyce Nelson in Grand Forks, N.D., and they moved to Spokane in 1949.
Mr. Neste owned and operated a wholesale candy and tobacco route for 25 years. He then worked as a residential painting contractor for 10 years and retired in 1989.
He was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julie Neste of Spokane and Penelope Neste of Hawaii; a son, Mark Neste of Spokane; two sisters, Helen Hobbs of St. Paul, Minn., and Juliann Sawicki of Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or American Cancer Society.
Curtis Seidel Priest River, Idaho
Memorial service for Curtis Robert Seidel, 84, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Millwood Presbyterian Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Seidel, who was born in Strausburg, Germany, and raised in Worley, Idaho, died Thursday.
He graduated from Worley High School and moved to Spokane 60 years ago.
Mr. Seidel was a building contractor and owned C.R. Seidel Construction Co.
He and his wife, Ruth, moved to Priest River 19 years ago.
Mr. Seidel was a member of Carpenters Union Local 98, Independent Order of Foresters, Priest River Yacht Club and Millwood Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years; a daughter, Micky Merrit of Seattle; five sons, Steven Seidel of Spokane, Carl Seidel of Tacoma, Cary Seidel of Richland, Joseph Seidel of Yakima and Walter Seidel of Deer Park; two sisters, Ann Arkils of Spokane and Marjorie Hartman of Seattle; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Millwood Presbyterian Church.
Alma (Burnette) Watts Spokane
No service will be held for Alma Yvonne (Burnette) Watts, 69, at her request. Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mrs. Watts died Thursday.
She graduated from Rogers High School in 1947 and married DuWayne Watts in 1951.
Mrs. Watts worked for a clothing manufacturer doing alterations.
She was a member of St. Monica’s Guild and St. Francis Xavier Parish and was twice elected Volunteer of the Year for the Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael, Alan and Steven Watts; three daughters, Patricia Watts, Delores Grant and Susan Poindexter; her mother, Lillian Burnette; eight sisters, Franceda Nightengale, Evelyn Burnette, Juanita Leslie, Marva Robinson, Marcella James, Janet Mumumu, Mary Burnette and Sally Burnette; four brothers, Hank, John, Robert and James Burnette; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Parish or to Holy Family Hospital.
Marvel (Isaak) Butler Spokane
Funeral Mass for Marvel (Isaak) Butler, 83, will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Butler, who was born in Terry, Mont., died Wednesday.
She lived on a farm in Kulm, N.D., until 1935 and then lived for a year in Bismarck, N.D. She has been a resident of Spokane for 62 years.
Mrs. Butler worked for Good Business Forms and Columbia Electric and retired from Old National Bank in 1975 after 18 years.
She was a member of St. Charles Parish, Woodmen Lodge and the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include a son, Roger Butler of Spokane; and a granddaughter.

Leona Luiten Odessa, Wash.
Funeral for Leona E. Luiten, 87, is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Heritage United Congregational Church in Odessa. Burial will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Luiten, a lifetime Odessa resident, died Wednesday.
She graduated in 1928 from Odessa High School and then worked at the Lincoln County Assessor’s Office for two years.
In 1932 she married Alvin Luiten in Odessa and worked outside the home in various jobs in the Odessa area.
Mrs. Luiten was a member of Heritage United Congregational Church, Odessa Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Odessa Senior Center.
Her husband died in 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Waldo and Alvin Luiten, both of Spokane, and Jon Luiten of Odessa; three daughters, Coleen Janke of Odessa, Coletta Maki of Kennewick and Charlene McCartey of Columbia City, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Robert Hardy Davenport, Wash.
Visitation for Robert J. Hardy, 82, will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Davenport Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Hardy, who was born in Rocklyn, Wash., died Wednesday.
He graduated from Harrington (Wash.) High School and farmed on the family farm near Rocklyn.
In 1938 he married Edna Schumaker in Ritzville, Wash., and they continued to farm. He retired in 1986 and moved into Davenport.
Mr. Hardy farmed in the Rocklyn and Harrington area for 50 years and was a member of Davenport Assembly of God Church.
His wife preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. Larry Hardy of Renton, Wash.; a daughter, Linda Eastham of Medical Lake; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
