Usda Grant To Pay For Three Ambulances
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investing $204,000 in Okanogan County to pay for three new ambulances.
The grant is part of $17.2 million the USDA is spending in 19 states to boost rural businesses.
USDA will give the money to Okanogan County Electric Cooperative Inc., which will use the funds to back Aerometho Rescue Service in its purchase of emergency vehicles to serve 6,293 people living within 2,243 square miles.
The federal grants, including Okanogan’s, are expected to create or preserve a total of 3,758 rural jobs.
