Beatrice Schroeder Spokane

Graveside service for Beatrice Lucille Schroeder, 75, is set for 10 a.m. today at Riverside Memorial Park. Memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schroeder, who was born in Hewitt, Minn., died Friday.

She graduated from Hewitt High School and in 1943 moved to Spokane.

In 1951, she married Marvin Schroeder.

She worked as a supervisor of instructional school aides until her retirement in 1993.

Her husband died in 1973.

Survivors include four sons, Ray, Gary and Larry Schroeder, all of Spokane, and Lynn Eickerman of Phoenix; two daughters, Carol Lynch and Linda O’Farrell, both of Spokane; two brothers, Harlyn Baumgartner of Chewelah, Wash., and Darol Baumgartner of Cheney; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mom’s Group for Youth, c/o Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Isabel ‘Betty’ Wigen Post Falls

Service for Isabel “Betty” Wigen, 66, will be at 1 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Mrs. Wigen, who died Saturday from leukemia, was born in New Hampshire.

She moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1936 and then moved to Spokane in 1950.

Mrs. Wigen settled in Post Falls in 1955 and worked as a Realtor with Gateway Realty in Post Falls.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin; two sons, Robert Wigen of Post Falls and Roger Wigen of Rathdrum, Idaho; a daughter, Susan Kanemasu of California; a brother, Richard Beattie of Spokane; a sister, Lillian Moore of Post Falls; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Odetta Clinton Spokane

Funeral for Odetta M. Clinton, 67, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clinton, a 57 year Spokane resident, died Friday.

She was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta.

She worked as an executive secretary for Volunteers of America.

Mrs. Clinton was a member of the Rotary Club and was president of the Lions Club.

Survivors include her companion, Vic Good of Spokane; a son, Kevin Clinton of Spokane; a daughter, Kym Delaney of Spokane; a sister, Edna Carlson of Spokane; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America’s Crosswalk or the American Cancer Society.

Ramona Chapman Spokane

Funeral for Ramona F. Chapman, 69, is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake, Wash. Burial will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake.

Mrs. Chapman, who was born in Mott, N.D., died Thursday.

As a child, she moved with her family to Yelm, Wash. She moved to Moses Lake in 1946.

In 1951 she married Jack Chapman in Moses Lake.

She worked for Fultz Rexall Drugs.

She and her husband moved to Spokane in 1960 where she worked for Columbia Lighting and later for Safeway as a meat wrapper.

She returned to Moses Lake in 1973 and lived there until 1990 when she moved back to Spokane.

Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Moses Lake Moose Lodge.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Fraser of Newport, Ore.; a sister, Jackie Wanzer of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Betty Jo Green Spokane

Private family service for Betty Jo Green, 39, was Saturday.

Mrs. Green, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.

She graduated from Riverside High School in Milan, Wash., and then worked as a certified nurses assistant for several years.

Survivors include her parents, Dean and Lois Green of Spokane; two brothers, Charles Green of Spokane and Dean Green of Post Falls; and four sisters, Dagne Kern, Kandy Haupt and Nancy Kadrmas, all of Spokane, and Georgia Springer of Federal Way, Wash.

Thelma Miller Colfax, Wash.

Funeral for Thelma Delilah Kathryn Miller, 88, is planned for 2 p.m. today at the Onecho Bible Church near Colfax. Burial will follow at Onecho Cemetery. Burning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Miller, who was born in Colfax, died Thursday.

She graduated in 1928 from Colfax High School and in 1939 received her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University.

Ms. Miller began teaching in 1930 and retired in 1965, having taught in several different school districts throughout Washington.

She was a member and past matron of the Fairfield Chapter 236 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of University Women’s Club, National Congress of Parent Teachers Association, National and Washington education associations, Whitman County Historical Society and was past president and past worthy matron of the Chapter 16 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also past president of Composers and Authors of America and was the director of Perkins House in Colfax from 1976 to 1981.

Survivors include a sister, Violet Powers of Sunnyside, Wash.

Lillie Anderson Idaho Falls

Visitation for Lillie Cornelia Anderson, a former longtime Coeur d’Alene resident, will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today at English Funeral chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Service will follow at 11 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Anderson, who was born in Minnesota, died Friday. She was 93.

She grew up and received an education in Minnesota and then moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1924.

Mrs. Anderson moved to Idaho Falls in 1990 to be near family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nels.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Oden of Idaho Falls; a sister, Violet Carlson of Spokane; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marian Olson Spokane

Funeral for Marian K. Olson, 85, is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Church of Tekoa (Wash.). Burial will follow at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Olson, who was born in Potlatch, Idaho, died Wednesday.

In 1939 she married Austin Olson in Coeur d’Alene and they made their home near Tekoa where they farmed.

Her husband died in 1975 and she moved to Spokane in 1981.

Mrs. Olson was a member of Tekoa Grange and the Lutheran church.

Survivors include a daughter, Marla Burtts of Spokane; a brother, Albert Clausen of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Della (Vergobbi) Braun Kellogg

Vigil service for Della (Vergobbi) Braun, 82, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Braun, who was born in Clayton, Wash., died Saturday.

She had worked for various businesses in the Silver Valley, including Kellogg Maytag, Hutton Department Store and was a clerk for the Shoshone County Courthouse.

Mrs. Braun was also a homemaker and member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. She had served as Past Grand Matron of the Catholic Daughters.

She also was honored as the Idaho Catholic Daughter of the Year in 1996 and was a member of Kellogg Lady Elks Club, the Grandmothers Club and the Golden Years Club of Kellogg.

Mrs. Braun was elected Kellogg Citizen of the Year in 1973, Volunteer of the Year in 1992, and served on the Mountain Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center Advisory Board.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Vergobbi.

Survivors include her husband, Ray; a daughter, Joan Kauppi of Portland; a son, John Vergobbi of Kellogg; three sisters, Louise Dimico of St. Maries, Mary Wilson of Spokane and Ida Johnson of Kellogg; a brother, Charles Biotti of Kellogg; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
