Stars Join ‘Murphy’s‘ Last Episodes
Warner Bros. Television plans to pull out all the stops for the final episodes of “Murphy Brown.” It ends in May after 10 seasons.
Murphy’s medical problems still surface, but look for a star-studded, happy ending. Sally Field and Rosie O’Donnell have signed on to appear in the final month’s episodes, with O’Donnell playing a secretary who communicates by singing. Warner Bros. also is close to securing Julia Roberts to play herself in the final episode.
Since Murphy talks to God in one segment, the show’s creator, Diane English, apparently has set her sights on a big name to play the Almighty. Also set to make a return appearance on the sitcom is Robert Pastorelli as Eldin the painter.
