Charles Gibson Spokane
Visitation for Charles H. Gibson, a retired senior master sergeant with the Air Force, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
Mr. Gibson, who died Tuesday, was 62.
He was born in Washington, Texas, and served in the Air Force for 28 years retiring in 1982.
Mr. Gibson then retired from a second career with Western Security Service of Spokane.
He was a member of the Optimist Club of Spokane and a resident of Spokane for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; a daughter, Fredia Gibson of Beaverton, Ore.; two sons, Charles Gibson of Mead and Calvin Gibson of Spanaway, Wash.; his mother, Johnnie Flewellen of Houston; a sister, Johnie Overly of Los Angeles; two brothers, Fred Gibson Jr., and Fred Gibson III, both of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Felmar Miles Coeur d’Alene
Service for Felmar Inez Miles, 93, will be at 10 a.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake, Wash. Mrs. Miles, who was born in Texas, died Thursday.
She had lived in Arizona and Texas and received a teaching certificate from Sal Ross College.
She taught school for five years and moved in 1939 to Soap Lake, where she was a mother and homemaker. Mrs. Miles moved to Bonners Ferry in 1973 and then to Coeur d’Alene in 1989.
Mrs. Miles was a member of the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ and was active in setting up congregations in several communities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in 1960.
Survivors include a son, Oscar Miles of Coeur d’Alene; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
