Tell Us Your Spock Stories
Dr. Benjamin Spock (right) raised two generations of parents. He reminded them they knew more than they thought about raising a child. He told parents, “Trust yourself.”
Dr. Spock is dead, but his child-rearing philosophy will live on for generations, as parents pass his advice onto their children who pass it on to theirs.
And he will forever have critics who question his approach.
We’d like to hear your Dr. Spock stories.
Parents of yesterday: Did you have a copy of “Dr. Spock’s Baby and Child Care” always on hand? Did you mark pages with folded corners or underline pertinent passages? How did he influence your child-rearing decisions? Did his advice work?
Parents of today: Is Spock helping you get through the difficult first few years? Is his advice timeless or is it outdated?
