To Get Another Leg Up, She May Return To ‘Basic’
She owes her career to one simple, single cross of the legs. Yet for years Sharon Stone argued about what really happened during the filming of “Basic Instinct.”
She claims that director Paul Verhoeven tricked her into believing that the controversial scene, which supposedly revealed Stone’s inner secrets, wouldn’t show on screen. Calling Stone a liar, Verhoeven says she knew exactly what was going on.
Evidently she wasn’t too upset, because word comes now that Stone is considering doing a “Basic Instinct” sequel.
“I thought it would be idiotic and dreadful,” she said of the sequel’s proposed screenplay. “I got two-thirds of the way through, and the script is fabulous!”
No word yet on whether she’ll re-team with co-star Michael Douglas.
