Samsonite Corp. said it’s in talks to sell a 50 percent equity stake to unnamed investors and use the proceeds to pay a $30-a-share dividend to stockholders.

Samsonite’s stock fell 40 percent in the past 12 months amid weaker demand for hard-sided luggage.
