More money for CdA schools?

After much debate, the Coeur d’Alene school board has decided to ask voters to approve a $19.81 million levy in the May 19 election.

The levy would pay for more than $10 million worth of renovation at Coeur d’Alene High School. In addition, the levy would raise $4.8 million for a new elementary school, $2.1 million for additions to Dalton Elementary and $2.4 million for emergency needs and playground equipment.

Parents and board members said the levy would even out the disparity between aging Coeur d’Alene High School and the sparkling 4-year-old Lake City High.

It’s an important public issue and we would like to hear your thoughts.
