Ewu’S Williams Second In Javelin
Eastern Washington’s Aaron Williams was second in the men’s javelin as several field-event finals were held Friday at the Big Sky Conference track and field championships.
Williams finished behind Brian Hickman of Weber State. Hickman’s top throw was 222 feet, 4 inches; Williams’ 207-8. EWU’s Ryan Cole placed third (201-1), with teammate Pat Green fourth (200-10).
Eastern’s Celeste Stutheit placed fifth in the women’s long jump at 18-7-1/4.
Northern Arizona leads the men’s team scoring with 57 points, followed by Weber State (51), Idaho State (48), Montana State (43), Cal State Northridge (26), Eastern Washington (22), Montana (21), Sacramento State (5) and Portland State (0).
Cal State Northridge leads the women’s scoring with 46 points, followed by Weber State (45.5), Idaho State (44.5), Northern Arizona (32), Montana State (21), Sacramento State (19), Montana (15), EWU (11) and Portland State (0).
