Man Found Guilty Of Rape Charge
A jury decided a 36-year-old Post Falls man is guilty of raping one North Idaho College student, but could not reach a decision Thursday on charges that he assaulted another student.
Kelly J. Wang faces life in prison for the attack on a 26-year-old woman last spring. The woman told police detectives that Wang knocked at her door and shoved her onto the couch when she asked him to leave.
Wang then demanded sex, began fondling the woman and raped her, she told detectives. He then followed her upstairs and raped her again, she said.
Following that attack, a 40-year-old woman claimed Wang had previously raped her after walking into her apartment unannounced in late February or early March 1997.
Wang denied attacking either woman. Both told police Wang boasted to the women after the encounters that he had raped them.
Jurors found Wang guilty after a three-day trial. The jury could not reach a decision on the 40-year-old woman’s claim.
Both women had been involved in relationships with Wang before the alleged attacks. Neither incident occurred on the North Idaho College campus.
