Organ Dedication, Jazz Performance At Riverfront Park

Riverfront Park will celebrate the Memorial Day weekend with two special events Saturday.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the restored band organ for the historic Looff Carrousel begins at 10:30 a.m. in front of the carrousel. The restoration of the 95-year-old band organ was begun in 1990.

There will be a display of antique band organs as well as carrousel artists and horse carvers in the Carrousel Meadow throughout Saturday.

In addition, the Ferris High School Concert and Jazz Band will give a free concert in the Clocktower Meadow from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
